Finding Baby Gender

Assalamualaikum,

I was wondering if it is allowed in Islam to find out the gender of the baby?

To find the sex of the baby in the womb of the mother is not a good action in itself. One has to expose herself and show her private part in front of the doctor unnecessarily and this is not such a necessity that one should expose herself for it, hence the Ulama have told it to be impermissible.

بچے کی جنس معلوم کرنا

السلام علیکم ورحمۃ اللہ وبرکاتہ

میں یہ معلوم کرنا چاہتا ہوں کہ کیا اسلام میں بچے کی  جنس معلوم کرنے کی اجازت ہے۔

الجواب وباللہ التوفیق

مادر رحم میں بچے کی جنس معلوم کرنا فی نفسہ اچھا عمل نہیں ہے بلاضرورت اس میں ڈاکٹر کے سامنے بے ستری اور شرمگاہ کر ظاہر کرنا پڑتا ہے اور یہ ایسی کوئی ضرورت کی چیز نہیں ہوتی کہ جس کی وجہ سے بے ستر ہوجائیں اس لئے علماء نے بلاضرورت اسے ناجائز بتایا ہے۔
