Assalamualaikum Respected Ulemaa,
I have bought clothing from a botique that is owned by a Qadiyani woman who is very active in the Qadiyani community. I did not know she was Qadiyani until recently. I wanted to know whether it is permissible to buy clothing from her botique and if it is not permissible, am I going to be held accountable by Allah for buying clothing from her botique in the past, when I did not know she was Qadiyani.
الجواب وباللہ التوفیق
It is not allowed to have business dealings with these people, more so because this is also against the zeal of faith. If anyone contracts with them on selling or buying or signs a lease, it will be considered null and void.
However, according to Imam Abu Hanifa (RA) and Imam Abu Yousaf (RA) only during a general affliction or dire exigency, it is allowed to deal with them.
(احسن الفتاوی ۸/ ۲۵۰)
Therefore, in the present circumstance, your purchase of clothing from them is acceptable, but it critically important to avoid future purchases from them.
