Regarding the payment of Zakat in Installments

Assalamualiakum Respected Ulemaa,

I pay Zakat every year Alhamdulillah, but I pay it in installments. For example, if my zakat is $900 for the year, I $300 in May, $300 in June, and $300 in July. I do this every year in May, June, and July. Please tell me if this is permissible. I pay my zakat to the poor overseas and it is easier for me to pay it in these 3 installments, so that is why I do it this way. Please let me know if this is allowed.

الجواب وباللہ التوفیق 

Payment of zakat per your mentioned method is acceptable. However, after becoming obligatory, it is preferable to pay out zakat as early as possible.
