Social Distancing During Salah

 

Assalāmu `alaikum Warahmatullāhi Wabarakatuh.

 

Mosques are now re-opening, alhamdulillah. However, in many parts of the world, the government are saying a gap of 2m must be maintained between worshippers.

This is against the explicit command of the Prophet (SAW).

Will the salah still be accepted and valid?

The correct way to pray in jama‘ah is to stand next to each other. However, since there are government mandates for social distancing, salah will be valid when there are gaps between the musallis.
