Aslm Can you please tell me what was the Islamic year of the hijrah of the Prophet (pbuh)? I know that it took place on 12 Rabu'-ul-awwal but I do not find anywhere the year this happens. It is said that it was the year 622 according to gregorian calendar. But what according to Prophetic calendar? Thank you for your kind reply.

الجواب ومنہ الصواب
The emigration of the Holy Prophet (PBUH) from Makkah to Madinah began on a Monday in the early days of Rabi’ al-Awwal in the thirteenth year of his Prophethood. According to Allamah Shibli Nu'mani, most of the historians state that the Prophet’s (PBUH) entry into Quba’ located on the outskirts of Madinah Al- Munawwarah took place on the 8th of Rabi’ al-Awwal, 13H, corresponding to September 20, 622AD.
