Assalamualaikum Warahmatullah
We have a small masjid in our city accommodating around 100 people. During the month of Ramadhan people sponsor food for iftar. We don’t have any separate space where we can serve food therefore the food is served in the same room where we pray.
Is it permissible to serve the food in the praying area?

Assalamualaikum Warahmatullah
It is a Sunnah of Rasulullah Sallallaho Alyhi Wasallam to do iftar and suhoor in the mosque. However one should try their utmost best to keep cleanliness, decorum and respect of the masjid.

السلام علیکم ورحمۃ اللہ ،
ہمارے شہر میں ایک چھوٹی سی مسجد ہے جس میں کل ۱۰۰ لوگ نماز ادا کر سکتے ہیں۔ رمضان کے مہینے میں لوگ اپنے طور پر افطاری وغیرہ لے کر آتے ہیں۔ ہمارے پاس کوئی علحدہ جگہ نہیں ہے جہاں لوگوں کو افطار اور کھانا وغیرہ کھلایا جا سکے، لہذا جہاں نماز پڑھی جاتی ہے وہیں کھانے کا بھی نظم کر لیا جاتا ہے۔
کیا اس حصہ میں جہاں نماز پڑھی جاتی ہو، کھانا کھلایا جا سکتا ہے؟

مسجد میں سحری اور افطار کرنا سنت ہے، لیکن جہاں تک ہو سکے مسجد کی صفائی کا اہتمام اور احترام ملحوظ رکھا جائے۔
