Zakat/Zakah

Hi,

Thanks for your zakat clarification.

There is one more question, that zakat is imposed on all the gold I have or only the gold I have stored? As I am wearing/ using all times gold about 3 tola as ear rings, chain, rings etc. and remaining 6 tola is not being used frequently. Total I have 9 tolas. So if consider all, I have to pay zakat, but if i dont include what I am wearing all the time, it is only 6 tola, on which I dont have to pay zakat.

Please confirm me if this gold in use is chargeable or no? (Like if 3 tola is in use and 10 tola kept. Zakat will be given on 13 tola or 10 tola only?)

The zakat will have to be discharged on the total quantity of the jewelry. In order to calculate the zakat amount, you will have to combine and find the total quantity of the gold (9 tola in your case) and find out the market value for this total quantity of gold. Zakat will be equal to the two and a half percent of that total amount.
